FeralScan App celebrates 10 years

FeralScan is a free and easy-to-use website and phone app that works out of mobile reception. FeralScan has been designed by farmers, community-groups, land managers, professional pest controllers, and biosecurity groups for monitoring pest animal activity and to guide local control programs.

Now on its 10th birthday, FeralScan contains more than 260,000 records of pest animals (including sightings, damage reports, and control actions) entered by 25,000 people, making it the largest community pest monitoring program in Australia.

People use FeralScan to learn about pest animals, record information, upload photos, connect with groups or organisations, and obtain advice from project members.

Anyone can use FeralScan to record wild dogs, feral deer, feral pigs, rabbits, foxes, feral cats, Indian myna birds, and more. Data is managed securely, and people can join landholder groups to work together with biosecurity groups.
