POST- FIRE RECOVERY IN THREATENED ECOLOGICAL COMMUNITIES

North Coast Local Land Services is helping to build the capacity of landholders to manage fire-affected threatened ecological communities in a post-fire recovery effort.

A community engagement program will support landholders with advice, guidance, and assistance to manage and control the spread of environmental and priority weeds and their impacts on threatened ecological communities.

With a focus on long-term ecological restoration, North Coast Local Land Services will support the development of site action-plans, including; weed management, re-vegetation, increasing habitat connectivity, stock exclusion fencing, and stewardship to promote effective management of threatened ecological communities.

Support to manage threatened ecological communities will focus on discrete private land areas which are reliably defined at a local scale and where investment in control actions will have the greatest outcome in the long-term.
