STOCK WATER RECOVERY GRANTS

North Coast Local Land Services had an overwhelming response from livestock owners concerning the Stock Water Recovery (SWR) grants expression of interest process, which closed on 15 January 2021.

The SWR grants are part of the Bushfire stimulus project funded by the NSW Government to help improve the health of livestock across the North Coast.

Grants up to $10,000 are available for livestock owners to improve stock water infrastructure such as troughs, tanks, and dams.

In late January, the SWR grant team delivered a webinar and three workshops across the region to support land managers in understanding available stock water management options.

Those who registered and attended will have received a recording of the webinar, along with additional resources on Farm Water Planning.

Grant applications are being assessed and ranked according to the criteria in the Guidelines.

Priority will be given to those within the fire scar area. Applicants will have been notified about their results in March.

The level of interest for these grants was much greater than the funding available.

Due to the level of interest, North Coast Local Land Services is seeking additional funding to assist as many SWR grant applicants as possible.
