Meet the candidates for the upcoming Hunter Local Land Services board member election

Hunter Local Land Services is encouraging ratepayers to register now so they can vote in the local board member election.

Voting opened on 21 May and closes 14 June. Voting packs can be requested until 12 June.

In the Hunter, 15 candidates will stand for election to the local board, with 3 positions available.

Hunter candidates are:

  • FARTHING, Louisa – Dairy Arm
  • SCHUTTE, Karen – Burrell Creek
  • WILLIAMSON, Adam – Scone
  • CLEMENTS, Sharyn – Brunkerville
  • SMITH, Andrew, Medowie
  • RHODES, Ian – Bucketty
  • RYAN, Patrick – Merriwa
  • BIANCHI, Elio – Glen Martin
  • MCPHERSON, Bradley – Lenaghan
  • PATON, Fred – Wallarobba
  • JONES, John – Wherrol Flat
  • MACPHERSON, Grace – Speers Point
  • ROBERTSON, Trevor – Bindera
  • STEEPE, Julie – Bulahdelah
  • STACY, Willaim - Singleton

Hunter Local Land Services regional board chair, Ms Allison Mudford, said voting in the upcoming election is an opportunity for ratepayers to ensure the local board reflects their needs.

“Our local board members are a key asset, using their connections with the community to provide valuable feedback that helps make sure our services are meeting the needs of ratepayers,” Ms Mudford said.

“In the Hunter, we have 15 strong candidates vying for election to our local board.

“Voting is the best way to make sure our local board reflects your needs and priorities, so we’re asking you to request your voting pack today and have your say.”

To vote, you must first request a voting pack, which can be sent to you electronically. You can request a voting pack by either:

  • Submitting your request online or
  • Calling Local Land Services on 1300 795 299 or
  • Visiting your closest Local Land Services office.

To be eligible, you must be an individual who is 18 or more years old and an occupier of a rateable holding under the Local Land Services Act 2013. The holding may consist of wholly or partly rateable land.
