As a landowner, it’s your responsibility to manage pest animals on your land.
Your Regional Strategic Pest Animal Management Plan is a vital tool to help coordinate pest control between landholders.
It provides a practical and regional approach to managing pests posing a biosecurity threat.
Regional Strategic Pest Animal Management Plans work to:
- reduce the social, environmental and financial impact of pest animals in NSW
- improve community participation in biosecurity management Increase numbers of well-trained and resourced landowners
- eliminate or prevent the spread of new invasive species
- reduce the impact of widespread invasive species
- ensure NSW can manage invasive species for the future.
Have your say on pest animal management in NSW
We’re asking landholders and the community to provide feedback on the draft 2024 - 2028 Regional Strategic Pest Animal Management Plans for 11 regions across NSW.
The plans will help us work together to identify, target and manage pest animals over the next 5 years.
We’ve recently updated the plans to reflect local community needs but we also want to hear from you.

How are Strategic Pest Animal Management Plans developed?
Our regional pest animal management strategies recognise that pest species are a problem across the landscape and can be regionally specific. Programs are developed in consultation with
- landholders
- livestock health and pest authorities
- local councils
- regional pest committees
- community groups
- other government agencies.
