Wild dog management update

The next phase of planning for wild dog management in the South East is now underway. In late October I met with members of the local Aboriginal community on the south coast to hear their concerns regarding managing the cultural value of Dingoes in the South East.

The community is now working together to develop a frame of reference from which we will acknowledge and protect the cultural value of Dingoes in our management plans going forward.

This is an important step and process for the community, to clearly state the cultural value and significance of the Dingo to the people of the South East, and one which will not be rushed.

Plan review meetings have been scheduled for five of the 13 existing wild dog management plan groups in the South East. These plan review sessions are happening throughout November and we encourage all interested parties to attend and participate. These plans are driven by community knowledge and input so we want to hear from you.
