On-farm GHG Emissions Workshop - Jerilderie

Join other farmers and DPI On-Farm Carbon experts to learn about on-farm emissions, emissions intensity, and introductions to carbon and emissions management strategies.

This session is part of a short 3-part program which will help you calculate and understand your farm’s emission intensity, identify strategies to manage or reduce this intensity, as well as discuss opportunities for you and your farm if you are interested.

Facilitated by Claire Edwards and Lisa McFadyen from DPI On-Farm Carbon, the program includes:

  • Short pre-workshop introductory webinar to help prepare information you need to bring to follow up sessions.
  • Face-to-face session on 3 September working through what emissions intensity means, how to calculate farm emissions and an introduction to strategies.
  • Final face-to-face session on 10 September calculating and discussing your on-farm emissions and identifying locally relevant strategies to manage these.

About the facilitators:

Clare Edwards is a Development Officer (Carbon) with the NSW DPI On-farm Carbon Advice Project. Her current role is to support landholders in their carbon journey through workshops, field days and resource materials. Previously, she was a Senior Lands Services Officer (Pastures) with the Central Tablelands Local Land Services for nine years where she advised landholders in their decisions around soil, pastures, and grazing management. Prior to that position, she worked as an extension agronomist with NSW DPI on the Northern Tablelands for 17 years.

Lisa McFadyen is Project Co-ordinator for the On-Farm Carbon Advice (OFCA) Project with the NSW Department of Primary Industries. The OFCA project aims to build the capability of farmers of extensive beef and sheep, dairy and mixed farming systems to manage carbon as part of the farm business and to support the agricultural sector transition to a low emissions future.
Lisa grew up on a family mixed farm in central west NSW and has worked in several areas of the rural industry. Lisa is a Certified Practising Valuer (CPV), as a property valuer working within NSW & VIC undertaking rural, water, residential and commercial/industrial valuations. Prior to valuation, Lisa worked as an Agronomist in central and southern NSW.
