Transform your winter pasture and learn all about seeding

Landholders on small acres are invited to join the free ‘Winter feed options for small areas’ mini field day and pasture trial at The Greater Sydney Demonstration Farm, Richmond Lowlands.

Run by Greater Sydney Local Land Services, the event offers the opportunity to learn winter seeding techniques from expert Josh Hack from Ag Farming Systems. The event will be held on Friday 14 June, with local suppliers and Local Land Services staff available to help with questions on agriculture, natural capital, biosecurity and more.

Ben Azzopardi, Land Services Officer said that this field day will showcase simple low-cost options through to specialised techniques so that your livestock will get the right feed this winter.

“We’re really excited to be able to help reduce the cost of keeping livestock by sharing techniques to get them through this winter,” he said. “The event is shaping up to be a great day for small landholders to get all the information they need to tackle this winter”, said Ben.

This year the event will feature a mini exhibition from 12 pm – 2 pm to engage directly with rural suppliers, followed by a farm walk with expert Josh Hack from Ag Farming Systems from 2 pm – 5pm through the demo farm plots.

Attendees can expect to hear about reducing the need for supplementary feeding, how to improve animal nutrition, sustainable grazing practices and long-term productivity.

Interested attendees are urged to register their spot online.
