Visions for Healthy Country

Visions for Healthy Country is a focus in the North Coast region and is a First Nations-led project.

We are working alongside First Nations groups in a Healthy Country Participatory Planning Process to support the conservation of matters of national environmental significance, including the critically endangered native guava (Rhodomyrtus psidioides) and threatened ecological communities in our rainforests and coastal areas.

Work includes cultural heritage surveys, Country visits, and events that maintain inter-generational connection to Country. First Nations groups will also be supported to implement Healthy Country Plans through training and by delivering weed control and fire management actions.

This project is funded by the Australian Government Natural Heritage Trust.

More details about the project will be coming soon. To find out the latest news and advice for your region, subscribe to one of our newsletters and learn more about how we work with First Nations communities.
